After internships at Alexander McQueen and Claudy Jongstra, Avant-garde designer Iris van Herpen graduated at the ARTEZ Academy of Arts in Arnhem. Having presented in both Amsterdam Fashion Week and Tokyo Fashion Week, her collections were enthusiastically received by the national and international press.
Iris showcases her sixth collection at London Fashion Week for the first time after previously showing in Amsterdam. The talented Dutch designer, known for her exceptional use of material and renewing forms, presents a conceptual collection with a clear reference to the future. Spring/Summer ‘10 explores a relatively unknown field of science, the body’s movement and focusing on the radiations and waves that surround and affect the human body. Iris Van Herpen tries to visualize and control these unseen lines in her work describing them as unseen magnets.
